The Narthex Nook Book Club
Our Narthex Nook book club is looking to gather early this spring. I have been given the wonderful suggestion asking if we could explore the feminine side of God. Does God have a feminine side? I declare wholeheartedly YES! “God created humanity in God’s own image, in the divine image God created them, male and female God created them” (Genesis 1:27 CEB).
We are looking for a book that will help to reveal God’s nurturing mothering tenderness, Her divine wisdom, which is always offered with the feminine pronoun, God’s motherly instinct to protect Her beloved creation and the amazing creative power of a God that birthed all of creation into existence.
I want to suggest one of these three books. However, we welcome other suggestions.
The Feminine Face of God: The Unfolding of the Sacred in Women Paperback – July 1, 1992, by Sherry Ruth Anderson (Author), Patricia Hopkins (Contributor) https://a.co/d/akvj4J7
Sophia - The Feminine Face of God: Nine Hearts Path to Healing and Abundance Paperback – August 1, 2011 https://a.co/d/7vycqee
The Dance of the Dissident Daughter: A Woman’s Journey from Christian Tradition to the Sacred Feminine Paperback – September 20, 2016, by Sue Monk Kidd https://a.co/d/2mNREzG
Once we have chosen a book, we will consider setting a time and place to explore this often neglected yet extremely relevant topic. Please respond at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject title Narthex Nook.
